Psycho-Social Support Programme

The Psycho-Social Support Programme is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to individuals and families affected by violence, with a focus on both immediate and long-term interventions.

This programme encompasses a range of services, including intake assessment, counselling, education, community outreach, legal assistance, and early childhood development. By addressing the psychological and social needs of clients, the programme aims to foster resilience, promote healing, and empower individuals to rebuild their lives.

Key Components:

Intake Assessment and Counselling:

Process: Community members seeking assistance can access our services through an intake assessment conducted by social workers, social auxiliary workers, and social work students under the supervision of registered social workers. This assessment helps determine the client’s needs and the appropriate interventions.

Services Provided: Clients receive short- and medium-term counselling tailored to their specific circumstances. Additionally, they are provided with referrals for safe accommodation, legal services, and connections to other government departments and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that can further assist them.

Education and Awareness:

Target Audience: School learners.

Objective: The programme educates learners on self-awareness, coping strategies, and how to manage challenges related to violence in their homes or communities. The initiative equips young people with practical tools and ideas to help them navigate difficult situations and promotes positive mental health and resilience.
